New Texas Auto Insurance Requirement: 25/50/25

If you live in Texas your insurance company or agent should have already advised you of the new laws and likely will have to do nothing to change your policy. If you’re new to auto insurance in the state whether a first time auto insurance customer or are moving to another state these are going to be your new minimum requirements.
Keep in mind, the new minimum requirements are just that, minimums. Speak with your insurance agent or insurance company about the proper insurance coverage for you and make sure you get the amount of coverage necessary to protect your assets.

Texas is pretty inexpensive as it is, and the insurance minimums really aren’t that much of a jump.
that’s great for Texas. More states should be doing this. Many drivers carry minimum insurance and it’s not enough, doesn’t matter which state you’re living in, if you own anything of value including your vehicle the minimums will not keep you covered and barely pays accident related bills.
Good job Texas
