I was shocked to find that I was penalized for actually NOT having car insurance
previously.
I recently moved to Texas for my health. Born and raised in Chicago, IL, I
really had no need to drive, due to public transportation. At the time I was
driving, car insurance was not mandatory.
Once I moved to Texas I had to renew my license. Applying for car insurance I found
out that Allstate gave me a higher rate due to the fact that I did not have
car insurance previously.
I was also told that the higher rate would remain for three years!!! After a
year it did drop by twenty dollars. But just last month it actually rose by
$40!! I realized that enough was enough. Using AARP I managed to get a policy
that was over $100 cheaper a month than Allstate.
All I can say is, I guess it takes a lot of money to keep those hands looking
in good shape. Fortunately for me it’s no longer going to be my money!
