SR22 – Insurance Lapse

I see a lot of these requests lately. “Do I have to file sr22 if my insurance lapsed” or “how do I file sr22 in x state”.

SR-22 and its various forms are not cut and dry. Some states require you to file SR-22 forms if you don’t carry the proper insurance, or if you let your insurance lapse. Many states require SR-22 Forms to be filed if you’ve had a DUI or DWI.
Check with your local state department to find out what your requirements are.
