Safeco Insurance Named Me At-Fault For An Accident I Didn’t Cause

Please contact a licensed insurance company for advice specific to your situation.

Safeco insurance company has named me at fault for an accident when another
driver made a left turn in front of me. I have been fighting them and am
getting no where.

I have gone to the insurance commissioner which hasn’t helped. Safeco
has been my insurance company for over  14 years and now they are deaf and
blind. I sent them details and pictures but they don’t care. I live in Southern
California. Would love suggestions because my insurance rates will increase for
the next three years. How do you fight your own insurance company?

    1. The insurance commission can look into it, but I think your best bet is too keep working with both the insurance commission and Safeco by submitting compelling evidence. No insurance company wants to pay claims so it’s always a battle when it’s your word against the other driver.

Was there any documentation of the accident? Did you file with the DMV?

If all of this was done and it shows that you were not at fault, then your claim should be paid.

    2. A lot of insurane companies do this. It really has nothing to do with being a bad company or ignoring a claim. Chances are they were not provided with enough accurate details.

    3. Safeco is a great company. You should probably get in touch with them again, explain the situation by providing PROOF of fault and then talk to the commissioner. If you really need too, hire a lawyer.

    4. A good safeco agent should be on your side helping you out with the claims process. In fact, they should have been notified immediately of the accident and it’s quite possible that they would have had an insurance adjustor or claims adjustor out on the scene of the accident to survey damage.

    5. Safeco has probably done everything they can to help, but wasn’t presented with enough convincing information. Saefco isn’t a bad company, in fact they do a lot for their customers and communities.
