Why is it that auto insurance companies are happy to sell you a policy that you can’t afford and aren’t willing to pay you when you have an accident? This is so stupid. You sit through 3 rounds of interviews about your accident and in the end you get a completely informal “We’re sorry but we’re denying your claim based on insufficient evidence”…

AIS Answer: 28 states in the U.S. require auto insurance companies to pay for sales tax reimbursement on the replacement vehicle when the prior insured vehicle has been totaled.

¬†Q: Can I negotiate a lower car insurance rate with my insurance company? I don’t like how much I’m paying.
AIS Answer: As a general rule you can’t negotiate a premium that the insurance company has given you as a binding quote on a policy because the quoted premium rate is based on your individual risk and the total amount insured among other things. However, like many services, you do have options.
