Q: What is the Dollar a Day plan in New Jersey?

AIS Answer: The State of New Jersey is doing their part to make sure that everyone who drives a vehicle carries auto insurance, even if it’s normally too expensive for them to obtain.

About Dollar-a-Day Program:
A new insurance initiative that provides low cost auto insurance to people with limited finances that would likely drive without insurance if there were no other options.

Dollar-a-Day Eligibility:
You must be enrolled in Federal Medicaid with Hospitilization.

Dollar-a-Day Fine Print:
The dollar a day coverage is not for everyone. If you don’t qualify through Medicaid you cannot get this insurance. If you have a bad driving record, you cannot get this insurance. Only people with current Medicaid will qualify, so the other drivers in your house must have their own insurance.
