Negligent Driving Ticket And I Got Dropped By Insurance Company

Please contact a licensed insurance company for advice specific to your situation.

When I was teenager I was driving in my grandmothers Ford Explorer a lot, well until I got my reckless driving ticket and was dropped from her insurance policy.
I was kind of impatient and really had somewhere to be so I passed a group of cars on the right side of the road. In my defense, the right side of the road was actually a merge lane that was ending. Either way, it was a small town and one of the guys I cut off followed me and got my license plate.

When I returned home I had a police officer waiting for me and he gave me a ticket for negligent driving. That wasn’t even the bad part. So what I lost 6 points on my license, at least I could still drive.

A week or so later my grandmother told me I couldn’t drive her car anymore because her insurance agent told her that I wasn’t allowed on that policy. Of course this is how she explained it to me, but the reality is that I couldn’t be on the policy if she wanted to pay the same price she was paying before my ticket.

It’s all good though, that was years ago and I’m a much more careful driver .

    1. negligent driving charges are no fun. Same with rekles driving. You don’t want to get a reckless driving charge on your record or you will lose ur license in some states. You insurance on a neg. driving isn’t nearly as bad as rekcless.

    2. it’s called “RECKLESS” driving…spellcheck

    3. getting dropped due to reckless driving sucks, but negligent driving can do the same thing. ins companies hate when drivers act like dumba$$es on the road and drive like that.
