Three months ago I was involved in a car accident. While entering the parking
lot of a small shopping center, a second vehicle backed out of a parking spot
and slammed into the front of my car. The damage to my new Audi A4 was
significant, including a crushed and collapsed hood, crumpled front bumper, and
numerous other scratches, dents, and scrapes. I was quite surprised to see the
damage that even a slow-speed collision could cause, though – fortunately – I
was physically unharmed. Mentally, I was a bit shaken from the ordeal; not in
the least because I had saved my money for quite some time to purchase my new
car (which was previously in immaculate condition).
Luckily, the other motorist was insured and we were able to exchange
information. The next day I informed my insurance company (Allstate) and gave
them the details of the previous nights accident. The agent was
courteous and professional and my claim processed rapidly. In short order, and
with the assistance of my insurance company, my Audi was towed to an excellent
auto body shop. I was also provided a loaner car for the
duration of the repairs. These were carried out within the week. Soon
thereafter, I was able to pick up my repaired vehicle, and it looked just as it
did when I drove it off the dealer’s lot just months earlier.
Thus, with the assistance of my insurance company, I only slightly
inconvenienced by the entire accident and repair period. During this time I
developed a strong confidence in my insurer through both their professionalism
and proactive attitude. Just a week after my accident I was back in my own
vehicle, without missing a single day of work. While no one wants to be in an
accident, I was very happy that I had a great insurance company at my side.
