Q: If a tree falls on my car at my house, will my car insurance company pay for the damage?

AIS Answer: If you have comprehensive on your car insurance policy then the company will cover the damage, but, if the tree is located on your property they will likely defer the claim to your homeowners insurance policy.

This isn’t always the case and you should definitely call your auto insurance company and your home insurance company to make sure you have the right amount of coverage for a claim of this nature. These companies will be able to advise you on who will take care of that claim.

how exactly does a tree fall on a car? I’m serious. Doesn’t it take a lot to make a tree just break and fall on a car? And if so, why would you park under a tree?

if a tree falls on your car you’re going to be stuck paying for the bills if you don’t have auto insurance.

when trees fall on your car it’s no different than a piece of ice from a building, or a rock chip.
