How do I file an auto insurance claim online with State Farm?
Q: How do I file an auto insurance claim online I’m with State Farm.
AIS Answer: Whether you’re with State Farm or another company, the claims process is similar, in which it involves describing the accident and providing any proof of fault.
State Farm makes it very easy to report a claim, as it’s directly on the home page of their web site - but most major insurance companies offer this easy access as well.
To start you simply select your state from the drop drown and hit “Report” (may be a different process for other company’s) and it will start the process for reporting a claim in your state.
The next page will ask you to initiate a claim without an id/password. Click “Auto” if it’s an auto insurance claim you’re reporting, or “Property” if it’s related to property. After this screen you will be taken to a page where you will register for a claims account. This includes your policy number, first and last name (or business name if insured through their commercial division), address, city, state and zip code. Then you’ll list the vehicle involved in the claim and move on to the claims reporting process.
Many major insurance companies like Progressive, Allstate, Nationwide and so on will have a claims feature online. It likely helps to be signed into your online account (you should register for one anyway to review your insurance policy frequently) before starting, but  you can create an account through the online claims process if you need one.
If you’ve gone through an insurance agent and your insurance company does not have a web site, or a claims process online, then you can always call your agent or your insurance company and start the claims process over the phone.

it’s right on the web site….seriously. You can always give them a call, they’re going to want to talk to you over the phone and in person anyway.
