Car Insurance Estimate Was $1,000 Less Than The Value Of The Car
After my accident, my insurance company came out to my house to evaluate my car. Supposedly they use some kind of point system to determine whether or not the vehicle can be salvaged. They were very secretive about the whole process and wouldn’t tell me what they were doing.
I received a phone call after all was said and done and they told me my car was totaled. They told me I would get a check for the car in the amount of $3,400 yet the car was valued at a much higher price. After arguing with them and trying to get them to see that I wasn’t backing down, they agreed to give me a check for $4,400.
In my opinion, because there was no frame damage, the car could have been fixed but they didn’t want to have to pay for it. So, they tried offering me a low price after their ‘estimate’ but I wouldn’t take it. It helps to know the value of your car before dealing with people in this business.
