I’m so tired of seeing the same car insurance commercials on t.v. I wonder what makes people switch to cartoons instead of real world situations, or I don’t know – telling the truth and not trying to just be funny.
You can turn on the tv at any given time and see some car insurance company with a cartoon animal, or super hero or a deer…whatever. It’s like let’s get to the real issue here, you sell insurance and your little cartoon character as lovable as you’d like it to be will still likely deny 80% of the claims that come across your desk.
In my opinion insurance commercials should be accurate. Look at Allstate, they do a very good job of explaining car insurance and how you can lower your rates and State Farm, they don’t use lame cartoons that don’t do say anything, no, instead they tell you about their agents and how they helped people in the past, etc. That’s a whole lot more endearing than listening to animated animals telling me how I can save money and oh…hey, look I’m dancing and funny. Uh huh…that’s sweet.
I guess what it comes down to is that if I walk into and insurance agency and see a dancing, laughing mascot I’m out of there. Give me real world scenarios and back that up with how your company handled them – then it’s likely you’ll win my business.

allstate commercials suck.
what about the stupid progressive commercials?
