Car Fire From Apartment Complex

Please contact a licensed insurance company for advice specific to your situation.

Story:  When I was 28, I lived in a one-story apartment complex that was managed
by a likeable but not-so-bright older gentleman. Our parking lot was directly in
front of the building, on the other side of a group of evergreen bushes.

One day,  I came home from a walk  to find the city fire department putting out
the flames on the front end of my car.  Seems the manager of the complex had
grown tired of the bees that seemed to have made home in the evergreen bushes
and had sprayed the bushes liberally with bug spray. A few hours later,
apparently having forgotten about the bug spray, the manager walked out his
front door and threw a cigarette into the bushes.  The fire was immediate.  I
was the only one not home and unfortunately, the bush with the hottest fire was
directly in front of my car.

The apartment owner actually tried to fight responsibility for this fire.  He
lost.
