Q: Which insurance company offers the best automobile insurance plans for safe drivers?

AIS Answer: There really isn’t a specific answer to this question because there are so many factors that go into individual auto insurance rates.

A safe driver (someone that has a clean driving record) will usually find better auto insurance premiums than a comparable person with an accident or speeding ticket. Being a low risk driver doesn’t necessarily guarantee a good rate though. If you’re too young or too old, you’ll have higher rates regardless of driving record.

A safe driver can also mean someone that has completed a defensive driving course, or other drivers awareness course. If you fit into this category then you should definitely use that to your advantage and ask your insurance company if they offer a safe driver discount.

As always, the best way to find the best possible insurance situation for you is to shop around, whether you get a few free quotes online, call an independent insurance agent, or a company directly.

    1. come on seriously, what is a safe driver? Someone who doesn’t get in accidents or rack up speeding tickets? I would think so, except when you’re a young male you still get shafted paying absurdly high car insurance rates whether you fit the “Safe driver” model or not.

I challenge anyone to tell me they were a safe driver, a male under the age of 21 and still got a great car insurance rate for a newer vehicle. I just don’t see that happening.

    2. most insurance companies offer discounts for safe drivers. It’s the only way to be competitive anymore. The safe drivers cost the insurance companies nothing if they never file claims, so rewarding them makes it a win-win.

    3. I never got that discount. I don’t know if it’s being a male or what, but even when I turned 25 I didn’t see a drop in my rate.
