Q: My qeustion is what are my risks when allowing my son a licensed driver, to use
my car. I have Liability insurance.
AIS Answer: If what you’re saying is that you let your son drive your vehicle, he’s not listed on the insurance policy and you only have liability insurance…then, depending on your vehicle and other possessions – it could be pretty risky.
If you have liability insurance only (no comprehensive/collision/uninsured/underinsured)I would strongly suggest you speak with your insurance company about your current coverages, including the limits they are set at and what that means to you. They can give you a few scenarios that may make you change your mind about carrying liability only, as liability can be very limited in its scope of coverage.

I wouldn’t let my kids drive if I just had liability insurance, especially if I only had one car.
Liability only and you let your kids drive? You need to get some real insurance.
you should have more than liability insurance on your vehicle if ANYONE is driving…unless you don’t care about not having enough coverage in the event of an accident.
