Alabama Raising Minimum Auto Insurance Requirements

Please contact a licensed insurance company for advice specific to your situation.

Alabama has recognized that the 25 years between the last limit increase has been far too long and the minimum insurance requirements needed an update.

The much overdue change to Alabama’s minimum requirements raises the current $20/$40/$10 to $25/$50/$25. What this means specifically is the coverage for one person injured in an accident is raised from $20,000 to $25,000. The coverage for all people injured in a single accident is raised from $40,000 to $50,000 total, and property damage rises from $10,000 to $25,000.

The new rules are to take effect immediately after Governor Bob Riley signs the bill.

    2. shocking…a car insurance company raising rates? unheard of.
